About Us
Revealing the Invisible. Rethinking the End-of-Life
We are CRAB - Circular Resource Analysis Bridge - and we exist to bring clarity to the unseen.
Our mission is to open the black box of what happens to materials, products, and packaging at the end of their life, through easy-to-deploy, cost-effective, and automatic AI-driven analysis of resource streams.
Only if we see what others can't, are we able to make change happen.
And change is exactly what the planet needs.
By making the invisible visible, we empower circularity not just as a concept, but as a measurable, actionable process.
Our Story
Like many impactful ideas, CRAB started with a question.
How can we truly know what happens to resources after they fulfilled their purpose, without expensive fixed infrastructure or manual audits?
Born at the intersection of science, AI and sustainability, CRAB was founded to challenge the status quo in waste and resource analysis.
Our systems are mobile, scalable, and smart enough to operate in the complexity of the real world, unlike ideal lab conditions.
What began as a research challenge quickly evolved into a powerful tool for change:
Helping cities, producers, and recyclers see better, act smarter, and design more circular systems.
Our Roadmap
2019
Research at the University of Luxembourg, in collaboration with international partners.
2023
The project was selected for FNR JUMP and won first prize at the Ideation Camp in Luxembourg.
2024
Founding of CRAB and patent filing for mobile AI camera system.
2025
First field pilot tests and partnerships with municipalities and recyclers. - Accredited Private Research Institution
Now
Scaling up by expanding our traceability platform and AI model network.
Our Team
CRAB was founded by three scientists with deep roots in AI, circular economy, and environmental sensing. Their combined research backgrounds span waste systems, computer vision, and real-world machine learning applications.
